- Under-Atomization: Low air pressure or overly thick clearcoat creates large droplets that land heavily and freeze in place without leveling.
- Premature Surface Skinning: Using a reducer that is too fast causes the top layer of clearcoat to skin over before solvents underneath can evaporate. This traps solvent and prevents the film from self-leveling.
